Systems are support.

What a week  (I know I could say that with exasperation pretty much any week, but it's fine. I'm fine. Everything's fine.)

I don't know about you, but I've been feeling tired for awhile now. Between a global pandemic, voting rights being threatened, abortion access being restricted, keeping up with laundry and dishes, delivering amazing service to my clients, taking time to myself, etc etc... There's just a lot, all the time.

So, as I build my business, I'm trying to consciously design it in a way that supports my energy.

One thing I've been thinking about over the last week or so is why I gravitate toward good processes and systems. And I think it's because systems = support.

As a virtual support professional, I know that systems -- like the way you deal with your inbox or calendar, or how you capture leads or onboard a new client, or how you prioritize your to do list -- can either be messy and overwhelming or streamlined and supportive.

And our businesses should support our lives, not the other way around. There's so much out of my control, but I know that I can put boundaries in place that allow me to serve my people without burning out.

I believe in creating a business that supports me, and I want to help my clients to have the same. Figuring what exactly that looks like is a process, but I'll share more as I get things better articulated.

In the meantime, if you're also feeling TIRED (or maybe you're just worried about turning 40 in eight years like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally), allow me (and Harry) to be your shoulder to cry on.
